About FootyRevolution
Hi, welcome to FootyRevolution. I'm Jake.
To understand what FootyRevolution is all about, it helps to know a bit about my background.
As of October 2024, I’m a brand new A-League fan and pretty new to the world of round-ball footy.
I grew up in country Victoria, where Aussie rules was my game. I’ve been a lifelong fan, but over the past 10 years, family commitments and some disillusionment with how modern football is played made me step back.
During that time, golf became a significant part of my life and my main focus.
Things changed when my oldest son entered high school in 2024. He started playing soccer socially with friends and quickly became passionate about it—he's a Manchester United fan now.
I took him to see Tottenham vs. Newcastle at the MCG, and I started enjoying the game again. We even saw Victory lose to Macarthur in the Australian Cup final.
So, where do I stand now? I’m a Tottenham fan (because why not), and we have signed up as Victory members.
Now, back to FootyRevolution.
When I get interested in something, I find the best way to learn is to immerse myself in it.
This site is my way of doing that. It’ll serve as a notebook for me and hopefully a resource for others looking to dive into the game in Australia.
I know there’s a lot I don’t know, and I’d love your input on anything you see on the site—be it improvements, topic ideas, or just to connect and say hi.
